Parts of a wheel and terms
Upper plate: horizontal plate to fix a wheel to equipment.
Bolt or mounting pin: bolt or pin to fix a wheel to equipment.
Kingpin: a nut with thread and a bolt that hold the swivel structure together. A bolt with thread also ensures accurate and durable mounting of a fork
Swivel fork: to mount a wheel to a plate.
Bearing race: one row of balls in a groove.
Double bearing race: two rows of balls independently rotating through two levels of grooves.
Roller bearings: serviceable roller bearing used mostly in the lower part of the fork.
Ball-bearing: serviceable ball bearing used mostly in the upper part of the fork.
Mounting bolt: bolt for wheel mounting.
Mounting nut: nut for wheel mounting.
Grease nipple: lubricates upper and lower bearings.
